1720 0 30 days eom - on time Payment received: Yes (Appx. GBP 200 in total). (Will work for again: Yes) A few smallish jobs. Rather low rates, but no Payment problems. 12/2/2007
1719 9 30 days, sometimes earlier - YES Payment received: YES (400 Euro). (Will work for again: Yes) 8/25/2008
1718 10 net 30 days - initially, YES, then NO (please see comment below) Payment received: No, see comments (several thousand GBPs). (Will work for again: only for small assignments given that all the sums owed to me have now been paid. ) [Mod. note: Unable to assign rating due to lack of information on how late Payment was eventually received] When I first started to work for Oxford, everything was fine and I was paid on time, sometimes before due date. However, about one or two years ago, Payments started to be late and I had to ask for Payment. Each time it happened, I had to send several e-mail messages and eventually called Ms Furtek to discuss the matter as I did not get any replies to my mails. Only at that stage, she did state a date for Payment and paid me. I was lucky that at the time things started to go wrong Oxford did not owe me very large sums (around L300/L400), that is probably why they could eventually pay me. Todate, they do not owe me anything and, considering this and a long standing friendly relationship, I am still prepared to do small (minimum charge) jobs for them. I would not undertake anything bigger before I am 5/23/2011
1717 10 net 30 - Never received Payment received: No, 2 months late. (approx 200 GBP). (Will work for again: Never.) Dee Furtek and her assistant, Nick Whitford, were always rude and evasive. They never answered my enquiries and used all possible excuses to discourage me. I took Oxford Transllations to Court and obtained a County Court judgment against them. I then requested a warrant but the bailiff could not recover the monies as apparently Furtek has no assets. They also trade under another address (79B London Road, Headington, Oxford)but I was told by the bailiff that they are no longer there. I have learnt in the meantime that they still commission work to other translators. I am also concerned that it is possible they may resurface under a slightly different name, as many rogue companies do. 11/2/2010
1716 10 30 day net - still not received Payment received: yes (GBP 709.54). (Will work for again: Absolutely not! Stay away!) Dee Furtek (the owner) told me she was having financial difficulties. [Hearsay info deleted] I would recommend avoid working for this woman _at all costs_. You will not be paid. I'm starting legal proceedings myself. 10/10/2005
1715 10 30 days - One Payment received 30 days late, second Payment (GBP 700) never received. Payment received: yes (GBP 700 ). (Will work for again: NEVER.) [Mod. note: Hearsay info deleted] I have taken her to the small claim court and despite winning the case (Dee defaulted), I haven't been able to recover the amount due. Bailiffs say she has no goods worth taking. She lives in a council flat in a run-down part of Oxford. You have been warned. Stay away! 4/19/2006
1714 10 net 30 days - initially, YES, then NO (the Payment of invoices was 1 to 6 months late) (please see comment below) Payment received: about a week late (several thousand GBPs). (Will work for again: only for small assignments given that all the sums owed to me have now been paid. ) When I first started to work for Oxford, everything was fine and I was paid on time, sometimes before due date. Todate, they do not owe me anything and, considering this and a long standing friendly relationship, I am still prepared to do small (minimum charge) jobs for them. I would not undertake anything bigger before I am sure their finance are sorted and they can pay properly. 5/24/2011
